arugula press is a small studio run by me, chelsea, located in the beautiful NW city of Portland, OR. concentrating on handmade processes, arugula press is a constantly evolving studio, incorporating old and new mediums in order to create lovely things.

arugula's goal is to start small, stay small, and do the major chunk of production ourself. open to collaborations and diverse projects, this next year is going to include print + press, a limited edition monthly collaboration with a local artist, and many other things to come.

What inspires me are the little things that I notice in the day, whether its the way leaves are on the ground, the way my cat's paw is laying, the way a plant is casting a shadow, or a photo a friend has taken, and is hanging on my inspiration wall. My grandfather was an illustrator and commercial artist, and I have surrounded myself with many of his works. His style is one I love, and one that I see coming through in parts of my work.
